When in Missoula, Montana, at the 2010 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival for the premiere of my first film, A Circle and Three Lines, I met more than 100 people with stories to share about the peace sign on the hill. It quickly became evident that this story has deeply touched the residents of Missoula in profound yet different ways.

9 Pieces of Peace will present one community’s search for common ground about a symbol that often represents freedom from conflict. My vision is to create a film documenting an important and engaging story. It will also provide insight into the challenges inherently found in the conflict resolution process, hopefully provoking valuable discussions that relate to both our personal lives and the global stage.
